Hotel Finse 1222

Only reachable by a train trip (with beautiful scenery), this is the only hotel at Finse. (The only thing at Finse apart from holiday cabins). Our room had a good view of the glacier and lake. It was an attic room with a major potential-head-injury-beam, but the main issue was non-retractable vertical blinds obstructing the view. Oh w ell, who knows. Otherwise, we loved staying here and wished we had another night. Very comfortable bed. We are planning g on coming back. We did an incredible hike up to the glacier- the most amazing country. The hotel had a good dinner and breakfast, with a vegetarian option for me. Lunch is a packed bag of a sandwich and fruit so you can take it on your hikes. They filmed Star Wars Empire Strikes Back h ere and there is a really interesting photo album to see. One of our favourite locations in our 3-week Norway trip.

A really well maintained relaxing and quaint hotel with very friendly staff and very good food. We splurged and stayed on the top floor with beautiful views of the glacier. The perfect resting stop between Oslo and Bergen. Perfect for long meditations and gorgeous scenery. Excellent hiking as well.

We really enjoyed our stay. Since we were there in October, we were almost the only guests. We were picked up at the train station by the very friendly receptionist – thank you, Daniel! :) The dinner was great, and we enjoyed the view over the lake.
