Me and my family had a 2 day trip to Ventspils, and this guest house treated us great for the night.

I took back my good rating, because unfortunately it's worth nothing to be a regular customer. After I've been there many, many times, they gave me the room right next to the front door. I tried to sleep but it was impossible. The front door is so close that I thought every time MY door would be unlocked. People were constantly standing in front of the door, laughing and talking. Until 4 a.m. 2 nights I tried and hoped it would get better. I didn't sleep a second and would have gotten into the car if it hadn't been so cold outside. I told the reception my problem but no one cared. Then I had to cut short my stay because I don't pay for a room where I can't sleep for ONE second! I asked for my money back, but it was refused. Then I asked for a refund for the night I paid for but didn't use. They agreed, but it was a lie. I haven't seen a penny. I will never come back. Never again.

What an absolutely fantastic place ! Great surroundings, lovely view out the window, live and amazing flowers on the window sill, great design and pleasant atmosphere. Very kindhearted and lovely cleaning lady, that doubled as receptionist for us. Very clean and well designed bathroom. Cute little back yard and a lovely cat living there. Nice little shared kitchen, plus - water boiler and fridge in Your own room. Great stay. We even got to stay much longer without paying extra. Not sure if we just got lucky or if this is the usual policy, but we got to stay till 17.00, although the official sign-out time is 12.00. All around great experience, suggest to everyone and anyone who visits Ventspils. Minuses - TV channels mostly only in russian, all movies are dubbed. So - not perfect for foreigners. The bed seemed a bit too hard, but that is maybe just me ...
