The Grapes Hotel, Bar & Restaurant

This hotel is absolutely fantastic, it has a lovely welcome feeling and the scenery is amazing. The staff are outstanding and can't do enough for you. Very helpful and friendly and happy to assist with anything. We stayed in one of the cottages and it was comfortable and cosy. The bed was really comfortable, it was clean and had everything you need. No cooking facilities but you won't need that with the pub next door serving tasty home cooked food. Cannot fault this hotel at all, I have stayed in a lot of hotels and this is by far my favorite. Can highly recommend this hotel and I will definetly be back.

Great Sunday carvery. Would highly recommend. Lovely tender lamb and pork. Beef ok too. Cauliflower cheese outstanding..strong mature cheese flavour, much better than elsewhere. We wondered if any Stilton or double Gloucester might be in the sauce. Good roast potatoes. In fact all veg good. Love the swede mash, sweet potatoes and carrots. (Also had broccoli and parsnip!) Great choices of sauces (horseradish, mint and apple). Gravy good (we had two boats). Can’t fault it. Lovely friendly waitresses (Welsh and Romanian). Very very good service..constantly checking we were ok which was much appreciated . A very positive enjoyable experience. Hope to visit again soon.

Absolutely perfect place to stay and to eat. The staff were amazing and always smiling and a pleasure to be around. We staying in the hotel overnight and the room was perfect for our single night stay, clean and a superb shower in the ensuite. We had dinner and breakfast there and the food is spectacular. All freshly cooked, large portions and just perfect. Andrew, the lady manager and his team were just so helpful and friendly and ended up talking to them all night long plus some of the regulars too. What a gem of a place and would recommend anyone and everyone to stay and sample this brilliant hotel 100%. We will be returning for sure as soon as we can.
