- The BEST place of the whole Camino Primitivo de Santiago. - I got a private room for only 25€, which had a private toilet also. - When I woke up at 5am, I didn´t have to be quiet and take forever to get ready, but I can move at a normal pace, so instead of one hour to get ready, it took me only 30 minutes. - It´s pure nature around. You can just relax, go for a walk (which might sound something strange to do, if you are already walking 20-30 kms each day, but the surroundings here are really nice) or have a great chat with another peregrino while drinking a coffee near the chimney. - At the evening I asked him for a hot milk chocolate, and he didn´t want money for it. Of course I gave him something, which was cheap anyway. - The peregrino menu was only 13€, which were 2 different very big plates of food, water, and dessert. - The breakfast is buffet. There are things in the fridge and outside, like fruits, bread, coffee, butter, jam... and many more things, and you take what you want, as much as you want. - There is also a nice place to wash your cloth. - The hospitalero was very, very friendly and nice. He enjoys what he is doing and is happy seeing the people happy too.

I rarely put bad reviews but this time I couldn’t resist. I was just SO dirty. I slept in many different albergues and this one was the absolute worst. The albergue is old, but cleaning it would make pilgrims stay so much nicer!! Beds had some dirt on top, you get a material sheet that still had stains on (it didn’t look washed at all), floors and bathrooms looked like they weren’t cleaned for a longer time. There were dead roaches lying on the floor. Fortunately we didn’t find bed bugs (room 5). The kitchen was also super dirty and we found dead insects in the tea boxes. I only ate boxed food there. I give an extra plus for the breakfast - it was quite a lot, fruit, yogurt, packaged sweet buns, bread and sweet spreads. For this price I think it should be much cleaner.

One of the best places we stayed on the Camino Primtivo. Very nice host. Helpful. Trusting. He will take your clothes to Lugo to be washed. You can take any food and drink from behind the counter if he is not there - jus
