Harbour Hotel Sidmouth

I went with a friend for a spa day with lunch, so a lot of the criteria stars here don't apply. We live locally and were in need of relaxation and a bit of spoiling. We certainly found it here. The staff in the hotel, restaurant and spa were friendly, helpful and warm. We loved the swimming pool, jacuzzi and steam room; it was a truly relaxing experience. Lunch was fabulous, we sat by the window overlooking the beautiful view. Starters - mussels with cider and cream, pear salad with radicchio and blue cheese (I think!) Mains - steak (cooked just as requested) and stone bass on an olive and potato bed with thin slices of fennel and a delicious sauce. I may not have remembered these exactly right, but they were wonderful. We chose one from the set menu and one from the festive set menu. To finish we couldn't resist sharing a crême brulée, which was perfect. Thank you to everyone who made this such a memorable day for us.

We recently celebrated our anniversary at the Sidmouth Harbour Hotel and couldn’t have chosen a better place. From start to finish, everything was just right. The staff were incredibly attentive, making us feel special throughout our stay. Our anniversary meal was beautifully presented and delicious, with thoughtful service that really added to the occasion. The hotel boasts stunning views – especially from the terrace – where we enjoyed drinks while taking in the coastal scenery. The outdoor pool was a lovely bonus, and the location is perfect, just a short walk from the beach. It was a truly memorable and relaxing stay. We’ll definitely be back!

Excellent Christmas break at The Harbour. As a regular at the hotel I’ve always enjoyed my stays and love the relaxed and friendly feel. Fiona (GM), Charlotte (Events) and the lovely team worked tirelessly over the period to deliver a great Christmas. F&B was excellent - all meals were delicious. We had family visiting for one meal and it’s great that the hotel is not closed to external visitors over the period - after all, the locals are great supporters of the restaurant during the year. Rooms are very comfortable but hot which is the downside of an older building - I’d love to see aircon. The spa facilities were as good as ever and the small gym is perfect.
