We were fortunate enough to visit Edith and Niels Dunkel's beautiful natural garden. The garden features diverse areas, shady and sunny flowerbeds, fruit trees, secluded corners, small ponds, comfortable seating areas, and quiet retreats. A guest room is located in the house's extension. The room blends seamlessly into the garden, creating a feeling of being surrounded by nature at all times. Individual areas are tastefully and subtly decorated with handcrafted items. Natural design elements, such as a small pergola, vine-covered screens, and plant supports, are used with great care. In short: These two warm and welcoming hosts have created a wonderful ambiance. The perfect interplay between indoors and outdoors guarantees wonderful, relaxing days in a unique alpine setting with stunning natural gems. Not to be forgotten is Edith Dunkel's little shop on the ground floor of the house: Here you'll find exquisite jewelry from her own studio, charming, hand-designed greeting cards, and all sorts of other lovely items.

We're having a magical week at Dunkel Blaue Maus. Edith is incredibly attentive to her guests! She's like a little mouse! You never hear or see her, but the fridge is full of beautifully presented and delicious little treats! It's a 5-star experience! And the scenery is breathtaking!! The four of us (my husband, our two dogs, and I) received a warm welcome at the "Dark Blue Mouse" with homemade chocolate (so delicious!). Our two dogs were also given chew sticks as a welcome gift, which they immediately devoured. The view from the room is breathtakingly beautiful. The room is clean and well-maintained. Requests regarding breakfast (vegetarian) were accommodated without any problems – thank you again! The room was cleaned daily. Finally, Mrs. Dunkel brought us a truly delicious piece of cake. What can I say? With the Dunkel family, you can feel right at home. What more could you ask for? The surrounding area is, of course, perfect. There's so much to discover on foot (Reichenbach Falls, the Aare Gorge, the castle ruins with a magnificent view of Meiringen, etc.). Dear Dunkel family, we hope to be your guests again soon.
