Place was beautiful. Woke up to ocean views from atop the hillside, with birds chirping and the occasional sounds of dogs, donkeys, and other livestock. Host were incredibly friendly and happy to supply information on the best places to visit while there. Excellent recommendations as well. 100% would stay again if in that area.

Only a conditional recommendation. The Kikuharri apartment, with its location above the sea, is very beautiful (5 stars). Apart from cowbells, dogs, and the neighbors, you can't hear anything. Thick fog rolled in most evenings (August!), spoiling the view. During the day, it was hot, and the heat was felt in the bedroom on the gallery. Airing the room while we were away wasn't allowed because the weather could change at any moment, and it did. But the stifling heat remained. The gallery is half open, and there's no way to darken the two beds there. Unfortunately, there's also no shade for the apartment's beautiful large window, and there's no air conditioning. A baby lived below us, which kept us awake. In one corner, there's a shaft that hummed with the hot water supply for the three apartments day and night. I've never slept so badly. The single-lane, winding, steep road with plenty of oncoming traffic of all kinds is only for those with strong nerves. The claim that you can reach San Sebastián in 15 minutes by car is only theoretically true. At least during peak season, there's nowhere to park. Ultimately, you drive to a campsite, then take the bus, and it takes a good hour to get to the center. Phone coverage is very poor, but the internet works well. The nearby restaurant, the Yellow Deli, which at first glance appears quaint, actually belongs to a sect called "The Twelve Tribes," which originates from the USA and is apparently banned in Germany.

What an incredibly beautiful place. From the apartment (1st floor), you have a direct view of the ocean. It is very quiet there. The Northern Camino route passes right by. The apartments are beautiful inside and very spacious. The kitchen has most amenities, such as a refrigerator, oven, and microwave. You can also use the washing machine and dryer. The manager is very friendly and helpful. Google Translate helps us with our minimal Spanish. There is an alternative and cozy restaurant nearby (Yellow Deli). There is another restaurant 3 km away. You are a 15 to 20-minute drive from San Sebastian, which is well worth the effort. Of course, try the pinchos too. Local tip: order a maximum of one pincho per restaurant, then move on to another. Orio also has a nice old center. There are several supermarkets there as well. The road in that direction is a bit narrower, but you get used to it quickly. Lusarbe is a great starting point to explore the area all the way to Bilbao. The Game of Thrones peninsula is certainly worth a visit too. Be sure to book tickets in advance.
