Hotel El Balcón

I'm sorry to be harsh but this place is sad and tired. Flickering lights, broken dustbin, shower falling off the wall, peeling paint, musty smelling bathroom, no air conditioning etc... I wouldn't have minded these things if it was in a very touristy place (it's not, it's in a very (and I put this in as charitable a way as possible) industrial town) or if it was cheap (it wasn't, it cost me €50 for a night). Additionally, their main business is the restaurant so don't expect attention for check in etc for a while. In short, I really can't recommend staying here particularly as it's on the outskirts of Avilés so not even central, and Avilés itself is not exactly pleasant. I would avoid it and stay elsewhere, preferably in a different town altogether.

The food was very tasty, I would visit again!!! The rooms were of a decent standard and the city center was very close.

Great little place to stay and eat. Despite commercial surroundings, it's well worth a stop. The staff & restaurant are excellent!
