Berggasthaus Tschingelhorn

Highly recommend for a very cozy mountain retreat only accessible by mountain path. Perfect stop on your hike between towns in the Bernese alps. Very friendly owners, delicious homemade Swiss regional food. Miniature goats in the garden keep you entertained while you talk with other quests or read. A wood fired hot tub is welcome after the hike up which took us about 2 1/2 hours of incline on a beautiful mountain path. Lovely room with enclosed porch overlooking the mountains. Hot water bottles on request at bedtime! Cannot recommend highly enough

This was one of the best mountain huts I’ve ever been to! The hike up was more difficult than we imagined…from Stetchelberg it was about 2hrs, with the first hour easy…and the last hour HARD. But the payoff was worth it - Berggasthaus Tschingelhorn has such a warm, welcoming vibe, and Stephanie was such a kind host. The private room (with balcony!) was very cute and comfortable, the shower was very needed, great food, the views are amazing (we had cloudy weather and still managed to see some amazing views!), and even entertainment with the mischievous dwarf goats, chickens and cats! Highly recommend adding this hut to your hiking plans in Berner Oberland/Lauterbrunnen area!

WOW WOW WOW. We had the best time EVER at Stephanie and Rudy's beautiful Mountain Inn. Tschingelhorn was our favorite place of stay in the entire Jungfrau that we hiked over 8 days. Set on the side of the trail, with hotel quality accommodation and shared facilities. The bedrooms were warm, cosy, clean and inviting. The food and service was the best EVER. We had fun with our hosts and enjoyed their company and their life stories. A truly magical experience for our group of 9 persons. I speak on behalf of the entire group to say a very big Thank you for your hospitality. Oh and a wood burning hot tub, and animals greeted you on arrival.
