Hotel Waldrand-Pochtenalp

We enjoyed our closer-to-nature stay. The food was tasty and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. You can order sandwiches and snacks for the next day's hike. Even in October, when it was cold at night, we were warm enough with the warming bottles provided for the bed and the extra blankets. We also found a beautiful hike in the book at reception and took the local post bus, which operates on the steepest public transport route!

This is a unique and charming hotel. We found the rooms perfectly clean, and although it is an old building, we weren't bothered by the noise. The bathroom and showers worked fine as well, although they are shared. The food and ambiance were spectacular. Very happy we stayed here while hiking the Via Alpina. They were also able to accommodate my gluten allergy, and the people who worked at the hotel were so kind and helpful.

I stayed a night here while hiking the Via Alpina. It is a traditional Swiss Inn with clean rooms and clean shared bath and toliets. The staff is very friendly and pleasant. The dinner and breakfast were outstanding - it was some of the best food I had in Switzerland.
