Casa Boado

4 of us stayed here in July. There are probably more positives than negatives & I'll try to cover both. Firstly, it's clearly based around a typical rural cottage & a lot of rustic charm remains. The newer parts and extentions have all been done to a high standard. Bedrooms and bathrooms are really nice. However, I don't think I appreciated on booking that this is a multi let site. We have the main house with 4 bedrooms but there are a further 2 detached bedrooms. All share ( ! ) the kitchen & seating area ( the seating area is also really nice and comfortable) The kitchen is far too rustic! What appears to be Grand Ma's cabinets, filled with Grand Ma's cutlery & crockery! The sink is a small square marble affair with no plug when we stayed & no bowl ! Washing up was a challenge! Also no kettle !! We had to boil water on the stove! The garden & grounds are lovely & the pool is great. On the downside the property is next to a busy road which can be noisy. One other item, no aircon & no fans ! We stayed during a heatwave ! The local village offers few amenities & the local bar was not offering food on our visit. Shops & eateries at 15km or so. So, lots to offer but a number of drawbacks.

BEWARE OF THIS AGENCY! THEY DON'T KNOW WHERE THEY ADVERTISE THEIR HOUSE! We booked Casa Boado through the VRBO platform on March 30, 2025. Our reservation was for 11 people from July 16th to 25th. The booking was confirmed (as seen in the attached image). As the travel date approached and we hadn't heard from the host, we followed the platform's recommendations and wrote to them three days before the trip (see attached image). Having received no response, we began to worry. There were 11 of us traveling, including elderly people and children; imagine the situation if we had actually traveled. On Monday, July 14th (48 hours prior), we tried to contact the owner by phone using the numbers listed on the platform (one of them is completely disconnected, and no one answers the other). We discovered that ALOGA RENT SL manages the vacation rental of Casa Boado. We contacted them through their website, and my wife contacted them by phone. A woman told us directly that we had been scammed and that they didn't have the house listed on that platform (a lie, as demonstrated in the attached images). You can imagine our anger and helplessness upon hearing what this "professional" told us. Following this, we called the platform through which we had booked, and they confirmed that it wasn't a scam and that the listing was published by the agency that manages the property for the owners. Fortunately, VRBO handled the contact with the agency, and they, of course, made them refund our money because those dates had been rented to other people who had already been there for two days. ALOGA RENT's response through VRBO was simply, "Sorry, reservation." "Cancelled" (as can be seen in the images) and the reason given was "natural disasters or damage to the accommodation." ALOGARENT SL acted with NEGLIGENCE AND A COMPLETE LACK OF PROFESSIONALISM by publishing a property on several portals without verifying the reservations once they had been made. The most outrageous thing of all is that THEY OFFERED US NO ALTERNATIVES and LEFT 11 PEOPLE STRANDED who had a reservation. We did a frantic search with less than 48 hours' notice to find accommodation for all eleven of us. In short, I'm sure the house is great, but if you have to book with this agency, BEWARE!

The owners were very friendly both before and during our stay. It exceeded all our expectations. We were six families with young children, and we were delighted with the pool, the green areas, etc. We were very lucky to have excellent weather. We will definitely return next year if our schedules allow.
