Casina Trovanza

I can honestly say that in all my 47 years on the planet this hidden paradise is unlike anything I have ever experienced in my life (and I have travelled substantially and in some very high-end outfits which include 5 star hotels in far flung luxurious places). The welcoming and brilliant host (Vincenzo) has such a sophisticated and playful eye for style & design that we as guests lavished in that perfect combination of our escape being one part fantasy and one part home from home. The setting hits all the sweet spots, the opulent landscape boasts of beautiful stone ruins decorated naturally with trees, olive groves, orange trees, a hammock which forgot to enjoy, a perfectly sized, classy and inviting swimming pool, subtle lighting in the evenings and a wealth of sky. My friends and I treated ourselves to a recommended masseuse (she was incredible), a vintage car hire (as pictured) and a private chef (as I am so fatigued by cooking as a Mum and it equalled same cost as a dinner out). I was reluctant to review in some senses because the location and attention to detail makes Casina Trovanza feel like the most wonderful secret, in the most private of locations BUT this magical place deserves a Mexican wave’s worth of applause.
