We deliberately chose this hotel because it is advertised as a hotel & spa. Unfortunately, the spa experience was disappointing and, in our view, misleading. Access to the spa costs €25 per person for 90 minutes. We regularly stay at spa hotels, and this is the first time we have encountered a spa area that is not included. This additional charge was not clearly stated on the hotel’s website. We booked directly through the hotel, not via a comparison platform, specifically to support the local hotel business — which makes the lack of transparency even more frustrating. This is our main point of criticism. On the positive side: We booked the Junior Suite, which is an excellent room. Spacious, well equipped, and nothing was missing. The harbor view is fantastic, the room was very quiet at night, and the air conditioning worked perfectly. The breakfast was very good and offered a wide selection. The staff are generally friendly, although a more proactive and welcoming attitude from some employees would be appropriate for a four-star hotel. The location of the hotel is very good overall. Another downside was the pool opening time. The pool only opens at 10:00 a.m.. We politely asked whether it would be possible to swim 15 minutes earlier, as breakfast ends at 11:00 a.m. and we like to do some exercise in the morning. Unfortunately, there was no flexibility at all, and the request was declined strictly due to opening hours. That was disappointing, especially for a hotel positioning itself as a wellness destination. Conclusion: Excellent room, very good breakfast, and a great location. However, the spa policy and lack of flexibility significantly reduce the overall experience. More transparency and a more customer-oriented approach would make a big difference.

Amazing place. Had a wonderful walk in the morning along beach on an Atlantic ocean! Hard sand very comfi to walk and even cycle! They have heated swimming pool on top of the roof - nice place to gaze at seagulls above. And breakfast- Amazing with all kinds of dishes and very cozy dishes. Old town also jys few minutes walk. One minuse - should be two separe blankets at white sheets foe each. Was big but only one and the main blanket too hot.

This was my 3rd time staying here and it will definitely not be the last time. Like the previous times, my stay was wonderful. The style of the rooms is to my taste and super comfortable as well as the hotel in general. LOVE the decor. Staff go over and above and are always so helpful and kind and always helping with everything with a smile. Absolutely love the breakfast buffet and the staff there too. The dinner at the hotel restaurant El Patio was the best dinner of my whole stay in Tarifa. La Residencia always delivers and I will definitely be coming back. Special shout out to Celeste, Barbara and Alfonso for being so lovely. Thank you all
