Hôtel Village La Mourra

Not our first visit but certainly last! My family and I had a meal at La Mourra restaurant. On arrival we were seated at a very dark, dingy table in a corner of restaurant. Struggled to even read the menu. Food was average. Menu has not been changed for a few years. Very overpriced which we were aware of. Bill came. Total of 550 euros. Service charge was included. However, as soon as the waiter arrived with a card machine, he rudely asked: “Are you going give a tip? How much tip?” It was so rude! It completely spoilt our night. Have never come across such blatant demands for a tip before! And I have eaten in far better places than this all over the world! Here is a tip for you, Mourra. Be classy, serve better food, change your menu occasionally and train your staff in etiquette! Then, you will get the voluntary tip you demanded on top of a service charge!

I am reviewing only the restaurant which was fabulous. All the sushi and sashimi / nigiri were top notch. Great ambience with excellent service. Only disappointment was a poor sale menu but overall brilliant experience

A regular for several years, which makes this visit all the more disappointing. Dinner fell short on several fronts: the miso cod was poorly prepared and served in an unusually small portion, and the mochis were simply inedible, still frozen inside. What made the experience stranger was the service. According to the waiters, we were apparently the ones in the wrong, which was surprising given the issues. To top it off, the bill was changed at the end and swapped without any explanation, an odd and uncomfortable moment.
