Otters Edge Campground @ ShellBay House

We were recovered here after an issue with our van. We received the warmest of welcomes, and reassured we would be well looked after, which we certainly were, as was our dog. We were offered help making sure we had food, and kindly taken to get a hire car. Thanks to Dave and the team for a lovely kind welcome and stay! Immaculate facilities, really good (free!) showers and perfectly located to explore north and south Uist

Wonderful small scale camping with people that truly care for you. Facilities are great: showers are pleasantly warm and pressure is good, a small common area is there with all you need: charging zone, a table, kettle, fridge, sinks, basic kitchen ware, tea, coffee, sugar in cute containers... Camping in a good location: not too far from the co-op and from the sea. I was there during a massive storm with 130 km/h wind and the owners told me upon arrival I could go sleep in the common area (we ended up being 10 people living in there that day! What an adventure😂🤩) the next night as the storm subsided we were able to leave the common area but the wind was still strong (80km/h gusts) owner allowed me beyond the boundary of the camping into his garden to have a truly sheltered spot. I felt safe and slept like a baby. Thanks again!

Dear Diane, Michele and Dave, Thank you so much for your warmth and helpfulness. Otters Edge is a special place where there are not only beautiful beaches but also exemplary people whose hearts are in the right place. Michele, a special thank you to you for your support with the medication and special ointments after our bicycle accident. Dave, thank you so much for the pickup from Benbecula Hospital. You are wonderful people in a unique place on the island. We wish you many more healthy and successful years.
