Why did I not pay attention to the reviews?? Stayed 3 nights mid-Sept. Gross misrepresentation online. I would have been soooo disappointed if this was a honeymoon or romantic trip! Darling town and this accommodation is at the top of a very steep hill. VERY limited support from staff and all off-site through WhatsApp. No one to greet you or assist with bags although website claims to. The halls are pitch black and lights come on automatically- sometimes. Did not feel safe and was almost like they VRBO the top floor rooms and people live downstairs. All around disappointment but went for the Pesto Experience which was a little hokey but very enjoyable and we made great pesto. Shout out to the young woman who works at 5 Terre Pelagos down the hill for being so sweet and helpful with directions and luggage.

I would advise not doing what we did and following google maps off of the train and walking up flights of stairs. If you walk up the main road past the church at the top the follow the signs for Billy’s it will be an easier walk with luggage. The room was nice and super clean, we had the queen deluxe room. To get the view of the sea you have to open the windows and stick your head out. Still a good view.

We had to cancel our booking due to a medical emergency—my husband was scheduled for urgent surgery with the risk of permanent blindness. We reached out to the hotel, explained the situation, and provided supporting documentation. Not only did they refuse any kind of refund, credit, or flexibility, but they didn’t even respond to our emails. The complete lack of communication was both unprofessional and incredibly disheartening during an already stressful time. After reading similar reviews, it’s clear that this hotel consistently falls short on customer service and basic decency. I would strongly caution others against booking here—there is no support if something goes wrong, no empathy, and no value.
