Refuge de La Flégère

The place is hidden behind the ski station hence known only to those who do real mountain hiking. Run by hospitable staff, provides basic facilities (toilets, snacks and warm meals), accommodation only upon a reservation in a good time prior to arrival. If you are not lucky to get a bed and breakfast, you may place your tent at the nearby lake but only between 7 pm and 7 am.

Shared a room for 5 people. Beds were standard, meal was good. They have potable water for guests. Views of chamonix were amazing. Accessible from hiking or chair lifts.

rating for refuge + dinner breakfast experience the decker bed we got was stuffy and smelly (maybe becoz it allows hikers to bring their bags up) dinner was simple but full, salad, main (in the photo), cheese, and dessert in the morning all had to queue up for breakfast as they served people one by one and limited it to just one croissant, one coffee/tea, and one juice, on top of some cereals and granolas, different from other self served all-you-can-eat-ish refuge breakfasts the view was great and hot water bath was hot (and at times too hot, unstable)
