The Kings Arms Hotel

Food not great but lovely staff. We ate here on a Sunday afternoon, the giant Yorkshire was something out of the supermarket frozen section as were the vegetables, the beef had a strange taste. My partner had the chicken kebab, unfortunately the chicken was cooked but cold in the middle suggesting it had been reheated. The staff were excellent and offered alternatives immediately while apologising. We opted to have pudding instead of an alternative main, both puddings were lovely.

We had a really lovely stay at the Kings Arms Hotel. The room was comfortable, staff were friendly and polite, and check-in was easy. Just a small note for taller guests — some of the door frames are quite low. I’m 6’3” and caught my head a couple of times, so it’s something to be aware of. Overall, a great hotel and an enjoyable stay. Would happily return, just with a bit more caution next time!

Excellent food - my daughter and I popped in on the off chance. Despite being really busy, staff could not have been more welcoming. Accommodated us brilliantly in the restaurant. Superb food (we both went for the large Yorkshire pudding with fillings). My daughter had sausage and mash and veg. I had slow roasted lamb, mash and veg). Delicious! Washed that down with a superb draught ale. Desserts were outstanding- I had sticky toffee pudding with ice cream. My daughter had delicious apple and blackberry crumble. Bar/waiting staff very pleasant. Highly recommended. Will be back!
