Hikers Hut Hišar

Super friendly hosts and they made some delicious soup. They helped us planning our hike for the next day and provided all the information we could ask for. All together a perfect place to sleep when hiking the Juliana Trail

It's hard not to fall in love with Maja and Matevz. For real! They host hikers from around the world in their lovely little home in a small, peaceful village with a beautiful view and natural surrounding. They open their house for people with an open heart and a smile and a true welcome. They are so welcoming, generous and caring and nurture everything and everyone. They make everyone feel comfortable and at home. They truly connect with each guest and tend to their needs, and create a friendly environment for everyone. I felt at home and among friends right from the start, and I cherish this experience and connection that was made. It was the best experience I had as a guest in Slovenia, and the other guests I met there felt the same. It was also very interesting to talk with the other guests and connect. We all enjoyed good food and good company. They live simple, happy and full life with two small lively kids, a sweet dog and a vegetable garden. It was wonderful to join them for a day and would've been better for two. For people who love nature, mountains, peace, simplicity, good people, and real human connections, I sincerely recommend this experience of being a guest there. I feel lucky I had the chance, and I hope I'll visit them again. Ah, and the bed was very comfortable, and I enjoyed my room and the full moon over the mountains at night 🙂✨️

Maja and Matevž were incredibly helpful and kind, making sure we had everything we needed and gave us plenty of tips. The view from the hostel is nice, although the hill to get there rather steep. However, definitely 100% recommend staying here.
