Bio-Hotel Helvetia

The restaurant was completely overpriced for the food offered. While it was hot, it was boring food presented well. A piece of chicken and hot potato salad should never cost $35. Easily a sub $20 dish. Hours of local businesses are nowhere to be found on your website. Hot tubs closed, brewery closed, why? No information provided. For $330 a night, I was vastly disappointed by the accommodation. This is not 4 stars as advertised. Definitely a 3 star pension. After looking at reviews I see similar complaints. I wish i dug more into them before booking because I would not have stayed here otherwise. Just because it’s “organic” / “bio” doesn’t mean you have achieved a higher standard. The surroundings and nature is beautiful, the location is pretty. But I can’t give the hotel any credit for that.

Definitely a hotel with focus on food. Restaurant was great and the breakfast awesome. A tad on the expensive side though. Rooms are in dire need of upgrades. Our mattress didn't fit the bed as it was like 5 cm too short, was uncomfortable (felt hard/used) and my pillow sub standard. Good staff.

What a letdown. We paid 50 euros more than most other hotels on our holiday walking the Malerweg. I have no idea why though. The good: Fantastic breakfast: Lots of options, everything fresh. The staff is great and friendly. The bad: The room was plainly outdated and looked like it came from the 70s. It wasn't particularly spacious, just old. It didn't even come near what I expected for the price. The bed was so hard both me and my wife woke up with backpain. Want to use the sauna? Well, it's on the other side of town, so you're gonne do some walking. Not necessarily bad, but the reception is also somewhere else in town. Not a minus, but just unexpected. Make sure to check in at the south-east side of town and then go to the location indicated by Google Maps.
