Gaia Forest Retreat

Wow! Words cannot describe the magnificence of my experience at Gaia Forest Retreat. This place is a true gem for soul seekers. The wooden cabins are surrounded by raw, natural beauty. The compost toilet, and open air shower is a nature lovers dream. Elizabeth and Rasmus are incredibly gracious hosts. I was shown the best river swim spots, and had the most delicious hearty dinners. I stayed for 10 nights over my 50th Birthday, as a reflective retreat, and it ranks as one of the top holidays of my life! Thank you dear Elizabeth, Rasmus and little Rosa, from the deepest of my heart, for this inspirational experience! I am already excited to come back! xx

I had the most wonderful time at Gaia. I was solo travelling around Portugal for 4 weeks before ending my trip here - it was the most perfect way for me to process the trip and my next steps. I was scheduled for 3 nights and ended up staying 5 nights. I felt very welcome into the home of hosts Elizabeth, Rasmus and Rosa but also very comfortable I could do as I wish and spend hours or days alone at my cabin or wondering the grounds or local wilderness. Sunset from the cabin is absolutely stunning, Rasmus’ meals were always delicious, Elizabeth’s guidance, conversation and bespoke activities (tarot readings, guided drawing, water ceremony) gave shape to my time and Rosa’s company never failed to put a smile on my face. I will definitely be going back there and strongly recommend staying here to anybody looking to have a relaxing time, deep in nature and reconnecting with themselves and their creativity. I don’t think I have felt so relaxed in years. See you soon Gaia family!!

Rasmus took excellent care of me while I was staying at his beautiful property. It is centrally located yet feels like you are in the most serene little forest. I also really enjoyed the wonderful meals that Rasmus cooked for me, if you do stay at Gaia, do yourself a favor and enjoy some of Rasmus’ superb cooking. I can’t recommend Gaia enough.
