Alpin Hotel & restaurant Frara - Passo Gardena (bz)

Wonderfully perched at the top of a gap in the valley. The restaurant serves as a restaurant to the passing bikers and hikers who start up early in the morning. The views are incredible from the rooms. The staff were lovely enough to rustle us up some goulash and apple strudel when we turned up late in the evening, which was deliciously warming in the cooler temperature. Parking onsite and hikes that start up right outside the door. Basic rooms, but that's all you need in the mountain air, a deliciously Austrian-inspired menu, beer and magical views.

We stayed at the hotel between 12 and 15 January 2026, a skiing holiday. The hotel has everything we needed plus delicious dinners and a top location on the ski slope.

We had lunch at Refugio Frara and absolutely loved it! The food was incredibly delicious and authentic. We were a group of 8, and everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The dessert was also a standout—authentic and a must-try if you’re visiting. The service was impressively fast, unlike anywhere else in the area, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Our server, Marina, was amazing—so helpful and friendly. She took the time to explain the menu, recommend local dishes, and even suggest nearby hikes. Her warm hospitality made our visit even more special. We definitely recommend this place to everyone!
