Résidence Illixon - Vacancéole

One of the worst travel experiences we've ever had - completely unprofessional and disrespectful. We received an email less than 24 hours before our scheduled stay at Hotel Vacanceole in Bagnères-de-Luchon saying (in English) our prepaid reservation had been cancelled due to “mechanical issues”, but the Tour de France was also in town for this sold-out period. Concerned, we called our travel agent twice to confirm that our booking was still valid - and were reassured both times that the room was still available. After traveling five hours to reach the hotel, we arrived only to find out our room had been given away. No notice, no explanation, and no effort to make things right. There is no person attending the “reception desk” - this is not a hotel. To make matters worse, when we tried to call the company’s central reservations line - speaking in French - we were hung up on with the excuse, “We don’t speak English.” Unacceptable behavior from any hospitality provider, let alone in the tourism industry. This experience was not only a major disruption to our trip, but also a glaring example of how not to treat guests. We strongly advise others to think twice before booking with this property or company. There are better hotel options across the street.

Excellent location. Good service from the reception staff. My teenage son could not sleep in the bunk. He is 13 years and a half over 1.80. the bed was very small.

We stayed only 1 night and it was good. But the room (downstairs) reeked of cigarette. Even if it's not management fault but they should have enforced the no smoking law. And their car park is a right faf to park so 1 star off.
