Derrynane Bay House

We stayed only one night and got there by car - parking is right outside the house. Check in was easy and the hosts were super friendly. We had beautiful room with sea view and a yummie and filling breakfast. Derrynane beach is so beautiful. We were lucky to have seen a magical sunset and rainbow!

We stayed at the Derrynane Bay House while on a self guided walking tour through a 3rd party service. The paperwork from the service did not provide a check in window. After hiking 18 miles, we made it into Caherdaniel at 7:30pm. We called the hosts to let them know we'd like to get dinner in town before heading up the hill to their place and if arriving at 9pm was alright. We were told we needed to come straight away and arrive by 8pm and no later. It wasn't a choice as my belongings and medications were already at the house. I didn't want to find out what would happen if we arrived later. So straight away, not the best first impression. Not getting the info was a no fault miscommunication, but also not being flexible with guest arrivals in a hospitality business seems unnecessarily strict. Other than that, the room was fine and breakfast was good. They also have a seating room that was cozy for reading.

Lovely & charming B&B, million dollar views. Host was more than accommodating when we were late due the unexpected & winding roads. Rooms were clean & comfortable. Excited to explore the Ring of Kerry, with this our first nights stopover.
