Camping Almen Aschau Hüttschlag

What a gem we found! This is the perfect starting point for our multi-day hike, followed by a week of enjoyment at this charming campsite with only 5 pitches. The sanitary facilities are perfect; the hot water sometimes comes a bit too quickly and gets cold intermittently, but it's usually fine (it's just warm when it's cold and cold when it's warm 🙃 oops). A large playground for our kids (4, 6, and 8) is absolutely fantastic. It belongs to the large hut next door, which also has a petting zoo that you're welcome to use. The hut has a beautiful sunny terrace, where we'll definitely eat in the coming days. The grass is a bit bumpy, but we're used to that at a farm campsite. A fantastic view of the Almen and the tinkling cowbells in the far background complete the picture 🥰. The only thing we miss is a place to actually do our dishes.

We stayed there for one night last year, unfortunately we couldn't extend our stay. It's a dream for anyone seeking peace and quiet who doesn't mind children. Five pitches, a great view, and a playground!

A very nice campsite in a wonderful location. Ideal starting point for hikes, bike tours, etc. New, very clean sanitary facilities. Super friendly hostess – we'll be back!
