We stayed at The Cliffden Hotel for three nights to celebrate my birthday with our two small dogs. The breakfast was delicious, there was plenty of choice ranging from cereal, continental options, fruit, yogurt etc or a selection of cooked options (eggs, bacon, sausage, beans, tomatoes, toast etc). The hotel is super dog friendly which made meant the world to us. They even had dog friendly tables in the restaurant! We only had dinner on one evening but there was a wide range of options of starters, mains and deserts all at very reasonable prices. Our meals were served really quickly and were first class. The hotel has lovely gardens and a pool and you are in the centre of town within a short walk. The room was a little bit basic but notwithstanding, very clean and good value for money. The staff were all super friendly and really polite - nothing was too much trouble. We were all made to feel really welcome and would recommend a visit, particularly if you want to take your dog(s). I would say the only down side was car parking, one evening we couldn’t park however, I parked in an adjacent side street. Not a problem, perhaps it goes to show how popular the hotel is. We all really enjoyed our stay, we will come back !!

Lovely location. The garden was beautiful and huge. Super dog friendly. Staff were overall extremely polite and friendly. The dinner menu was different every night so there were many options to choose from. It tasted really good. Breakfast was good as well, however I wasn’t a big fan of the scrambled eggs. There was a lovely game room, bar and poker room. I was slightly disappointed on the last day at breakfast, one of the staff members was passive aggressive. It seemed like she was stressed that day, however this isn’t what someone wants on a holiday. But besides this once off experience I loved everything else about our stay here. Our dog loved it too. Thank you for being so truly dog welcoming.

very nice hotel with very friendly staff at reception and breakfast. Beautiful grounds to stroll around and easy path with security gate that leads down to seafront. great views down to the sea from eating area and rooms. nice selection at breakfast that was constantly being replenished. It is an old building that brings its own issues, creaking floor boards, low water pressure and a very very slow lift etc, but that is part of its character. very happy with our stay and will visit again
