Our family of three has just returned from a wonderful stay at the hotel. The service and food were excellent, and during our six-night stay we really appreciated that the menu changed daily — we were never disappointed. The location has both pros and cons. We loved being up in the mountains and the beautiful surroundings, but it does require some planning for transportation and awareness of lift closing times. We had some bad luck with the weather during the last two days, but thanks to the warm and caring staff — especially toward our six-year-old, who was the only child at the hotel — we all stayed happily occupied.

Beautiful location and a nice spa, but that’s where the positives end. Despite confirming our stay and shuttle in advance, we were accused of not having a reservation and even of lying. We were left waiting outside in -10°C for over an hour, with no apology. The manager was rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. The “shuttle” and overall service were far below 4-star standards. Rooms are outdated, the ski room was messy, and the welcome was nonexistent. First impressions matter — this one was unacceptable. Would not return or recommend.

At the beginning, I would like to emphasize that Re delle Alpi made a very good first impression on us. The hotel staff is excellent—especially the lady at the reception, who welcomed us warmly, explained everything clearly, and showed us around the property. The restaurant also deserves praise. Although dinners were served very slowly, the food was outstanding. The chef is truly talented, and the restaurant manager is a very kind and professional person who genuinely cares about guests. The pool area and overall hotel infrastructure also create a very positive first impression. In terms of staff friendliness, the hotel deserves even 5 stars. Unfortunately, this is where the positives end. The hotel is advertised as being “ski-in/ski-out,” which is misleading. To return from the slope to the hotel, you must walk approximately 200 meters uphill, which is very difficult in ski boots while carrying skis. There is no direct ski access to the hotel. Moreover, on the first day, slope number 7 leading toward the hotel was completely closed and unprepared, just like over 60% of the slopes in the La Thuile resort. The hotel does offer a short shuttle service, but with a pickup time as early as 3:00 PM, which significantly cuts short the ski day you already paid for. The rooms are clean, but the air is extremely dry, which makes sleeping uncomfortable. The spa area has a beautiful view, but unfortunately, its standard does not match a hotel of this category. There were no essential oils in the saunas, and the steam sauna had an unpleasant smell. The biggest surprise was the pool towels made of 100% polyester, which are completely unsuitable for sauna use and very uncomfortable for the skin. The sensory showers offered only cold water, without any aromatherapy features. The only available drink was plain water—no tea or other beverages, which is standard in hotels of this level. In the room, there was no complimentary water at all. The only available water was in the minibar, costing €2.50 per bottle. In a hotel that claims to be 4+, water should be provided daily free of charge. There was also no kettle, tea, or similar basic amenities. The biggest disappointment happened during check-out. At check-in, we were informed that check-out time was 11:00 AM. However, on the last evening, we were suddenly told that we only had two options: check-out at 8:00 AM or 5:00 PM, with no possibility of the standard time. Breakfast officially started at 8:00 AM, but they prepared it at 7:30 AM for us—although it was not fully ready. We had only 30 minutes to eat, pack, and leave the hotel. During check-out, the director was pressuring us to pay immediately, saying he would not wait. We were presented with a very long bill that did not allow proper verification. I noticed one incorrect charge, which was removed, but we were again rushed to pay without time for proper review. After returning home, I carefully reviewed the bill and discovered an additional charge for a meal that we never ordered. We did not even have lunch at the hotel at any point. I contacted the hotel requesting clarification and asked for a signed receipt as proof. The hotel failed to provide any evidence and simply stated that by paying at check-out, I had accepted all charges. This is not about the amount of money, but about principles and how guests are treated. This approach is deeply disappointing and not appropriate for a hotel that claims a high standard. In summary, the hotel has potential, excellent restaurant staff, and a good first impression—but poor management, lack of transparency, and multiple shortcomings make it impossible for me to recommend it. Unfortunately, the final experience completely changed our opinion.
