What a brilliant , traditional pub ! Lovely rustic old beamed interior , with flagstone floor and some great artworks ,of local interest, on the wall . Lovely food served after 5 and good local cider , as well as great selections of beers , spirits and alcohol free beverages. Great atmosphere and great staff .

Good place for your first trip to St Ives, certainly a good watering hole! Not sure why it only has one star, aside from the low ceilings and smashing my head a few times it was nice and spacious and comfortable, unfortunately the shower in my room had nearly no water pressure and the management decided to leave me locked out of my room when they knew I was waiting inside to get in with a broken door and they got it open.....a lack of respect for their customers which is rather offensive, really. Otherwise I would have given it five stars all around, but would probably stay elsewhere and drink here next time I visit!

Pros: - high quality pub food - friendly staff - fair pricing - very good atmosphere - perfect location Cons: - the smaller room to the right used to be “locals only” and while the staff don’t seem to mind some regulars do and we had one shout “DOOR” at us after we forgot to close it, just a heads up. So i recommend using the bigger left side. - dirty tables, it would be nice if the tables were cleaned more often as we often found that they were covered in salt.
