Temple View Hotel

So how do I start ? We visited the hotel towards the end of August during a wonderful, outstanding trip to the outer Hebrides. We got recommended this hotel, but unfortunately the owners changed. On arrival, an over tattooed, scruffy man greeted us in shorts and asked if we would pay our room in cash. We struggled upstairs to our room on our own after being pointed the way to go. No offer of help or any information on our room. We had booked dinner for that night so came down for dinner only to find out the items we picked from the online menu belonged to the previous owner and after a few months of new ownership hadn't been bothered to change to a new menu. so we had to change our picks, very annoying when the food arrived it had a ridiculous amount of cheap supermarket frozen chips. The food for the meal itself was of very poor quality, would have been better with a pot noodle in our room it was that bland. After our poor meal we got asked to pick our breakfast and time for next morning that wasn't very fair as we are on holiday and dont feel its fair to be held to a specific time. On the menu they had fried or scrambled egg as iam on a diet i put a sub note requesting "please could I have 2 poached eggs" didnt think this would be a big deal after all its not difficult to cook. But apparently i was wrong the waitress was very, very rude about it so much upset she caused in front of other guests. If its not on menu you can't have it, so when my breakfast came it was one slice of toast A GLASS OF ORANGE AND NOTHING ELSE. i WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS TERRIBLE HOTEL, THE OWNERS ARE NOT LOCAL TO THIS AREA AND TOTALLY SPOILED THE ISLANDS HOSPITALITY . TO BE CHARGED IN EXCESS OF £300 FOR A ROOM POOR QUALITY DINNER AND AN AWFUL BREAKFAST IS JUST RIDICULOUS. I CAN'T SEE THIS PLACE LASTING IF THIS IS HOW THEY TREAT THE GUESTS

THE most friendly, comfortable and lovely place to stay when visiting North Uist. Katie & Alex are wonderful, helpful hosts. Dinner & breakfasts offer a great choice and all perfectly served. My room was spacious & very comfortable. This would be my choice of where to stay on any future visit to North Uist. Give it a try.

Kate & Alex really couldn't do enough for us, planned breakfast and tea round out work schedule & spent time in the evening to sit and talk to us on a personal level, couldn't have been more accommodating if they tried, thanks so much for having us and hopefully see you again in the future.
