The rating given is in part related to the price (expensive for what it is) and the poor treatment on arrival by the hotel receptionist. For context, we arrived earlier than the 4pm check in time just in case we could put bags into a room. We were met with a fairly rude no. No was fine for us but it was the cold approach that surprised us. It’s a hotel after all which wasn’t cheap for what it was. Minimum expectation was a friendly welcome. Pros: Location was good, rooms are big and clean, shower is nice. Cons: Service is poor, toilet seat was broken, overpriced for what you get. Overall, wouldn’t recommend.

I had a very good rest here during the camino. All the staff I encountered were kind and friendly. The room was spacious and clean. There is a restaurant just down the road with good food and many locals go there it seems. Wifi was a little slow for a zoom meeting I needed to make. It’s a nice and quiet place to stay and rest overall.

As a family we wanted to go somewhere to spend some quality time together away from hustle and bustle. With easyJet flights from London Stansted to Asturias and the hotel only a 10 min taxi ride it was a convenient choice. This hotel was run by a lovely family who made us feel welcome at every opportunity. It is a lovely setting with a beautiful pool and great views of the hills and countryside you can see the sea to the north. The location allowed us to stroll to a cafe for a sidra or coffee, the beach was a good walk but worth every step. The hotel helped to arrange a canoe trip down a river which was a great way to spend a day together. I personally enjoyed the port and the bustle that came with it. As a family who does not know any Spanish to speak of, we coped well but English is not (as we expected and wanted) in this area. I would highly recommended this hotel to people who want to go to Spain to be immersed in Spanish culture and fantastic scenery.
