Camping As Cancelas

On arrival at this site we were allocated a really small pitch with building rubble on it and that was directly opposite the toilet block. Thankfully the campsite staff were friendly and amenable to a pitch move after we'd identified a pitch that would suit us better. The toilet and shower facilities were basic but clean although the functionality of individual showers was hit and miss! The washing up area was fine, but located too closely to the chemical toilet area and right on top of the mens toilets. The site is best summed up as basic but fully functional. It is however ideal to easily walk into the amazing city, Santiago de Compostela. It is also conveniently located really close to a Carrefour hypermarket. This campsite is in a busy area, so there is some road noise as well as noise from some nearby building work despite parking higher up in the site. We stayed end of September 2025 and would happily return for the convenience of the location.

We were very excited to visit such an important city for all Christians as Santiago de Compostela. We stayed in our camper for one night at this campsite. Unfortunately, the lady at the reception didn’t seem very welcoming upon our arrival. In the morning, there was no hot water in the shower. For the price, it definitely could have been much better. Two stars only for the good location and convenient waste sorting.

For the location i'll give 4 stars, for the camping itself only 2 stars. It is indeed very well located near the city and convient with the bus nr 4 to go downtown easily in about 20mins. But the camping itself is very simple, the pitches kind of small and no separation like a hedge, therefore no privacy. Toilets and shower are good. And one more thing - been there on a weekend and it was very loud at night from a party from the city. Not sure if I'll go back there! And one last point - I personally find 31 Euro for a place without electricity quite high.
