It's also an excellent base for visiting many medieval villages: Spello, Spoleto, Todi (with its zoo), Bevagna, Rasilia, the Marmore Falls, Montone, Lake Piediluco, the Frasassi Caves, Assisi, and of course, Gubbio! I recommend dinner at Locanda del Re!
