Hotel Armando

I truly feel I didn't get what I paid for. My partner and I stayed one night, paid 280 RON (a little over market price) and an additional 60 RON per person (!!!) for a dismal breakfast experience. We were given a choice of rooms after we paid but both smelled strongly of mildew. No refrigerator, no kettle or coffeemaker. We requested extra pillows and were brought decorative throw pillows. We were also brought extra towels for a second person but very unfortunately, all of the towels smelled mildewy. The bed was comfortable and the room was warm so we decided to try our best with a positive attitude and save our judgements for after our pricey breakfast. The meal we were served should have been no more than 20 RON. I got one tiny espresso and had to ask for another which was begrudgingly served to me with an empty cream pod and an empty sugar packet stuffed inside of it. My partner had a moldy tomato on his plate. The breakfast was small. We left and walked past our hosts who completely ignored us, no "Mercí" or "mulțumesc." It was just sad/bad. The owners clearly don't care about this place. Great location though!

A marvelous place with the most amazing, friendly and welcoming hosts and staff. My arrival was late at night (2AM), and yet they waited eagerly for me. I was accommodated in room #14, but was told that if I had made my booking earlier (to be fair, I booked my room only a few hours in advance), they would have offered a better room. Nevertheless, I was able to take a steaming hot shower with high pressure water, slept like a baby in a cozy and warm bed and enjoy the fresh air which results from all the greenery in their garden. I will definitely stay here again.

The greeting was a bit cold and not like we could feel us very welcome. The rooms are looking old, but the flair is nice so that's absolutely okay! Only real problem: you hear everything happening in the floor and next door. We had some younger guests close to our rooms and it wasn't possible to sleep very well while they make different noises and walked around until 4 a.m.!
