Trail-Inn Natur & Sporthotel

We stayed at Hotel Trail Inn from January 1–3, 2026 while hiking the Mullerthal Trail. It’s an ideal base for walkers, with free public buses nearby that make it easy to reach different trailheads. Our family room was basic but comfortable, with a connecting door between the two rooms, plenty of space, and a well-equipped bathroom. Breakfast was good, and it’s very convenient that you can also have dinner at the hotel — solid cuisine, nice aperitifs, and good wines. We experienced cold winter weather with heavy snowfall, which caused buses to be canceled and taxis to be fully booked one evening. Thanks to the friendly and helpful staff — with special thanks to Stefanie — a solution was found, and we could still enjoy a late meal after a long hike. Great value for money, and a big plus that dogs are welcome. A warm, practical choice for hikers.

The first time we stayed here but we will definitely be back. The rooms are basic, but in principle you have everything you need and very clean! The only downsides we found were the shower curtain and that there is no air conditioning, so we will not stay here in the summer. The staff was very friendly. The breakfast buffet was good and dinner was really delicious!

The rooms are decent and clean. The breakfast was okay but... we like bacon with pur breakfast. First day we had more than enough. Second day just 1 hour before closing breakfast no more bacon and the waiter there said she was not gonna bake anymore for us. Really a shame. Third day only 1 hour into the breakfast and all of the bacon is gone. No mpre bacon for that day. Just that made the experience worse. Such bad management if you dont provide enough of food in the morning even if you can in late you will kot have the chance for any bacon. And the way we got the answer felt really lazy of the waitress itself. If you really care for your customers you go down the supermarket just a street away and buy more bacon there... we will not be coming back soon I think.
