During a hike along the Lechweg from Formarinsee to Füssen, we received a friendly welcome and were well looked after at most of the accommodations. Although the Alpenhotel Lechtaler is located right next to the bus stop and would generally be a convenient overnight option for Lechweg hikers, the service did not live up to expectations. Upon arrival, after a prior telephone inquiry, we received an unfriendly welcome. Although we had already changed our hiking boots for clean trekking sandals, we were rudely told not to enter the room wearing shoes. There was no binding agreement about the mealtime, but we were nevertheless invited to dinner at 6:00 p.m. The food was once again poorly prepared and disappointing in taste, and the service seemed unfriendly and unaccommodating.

Regarding Angela Hennig's review: We stayed at the Alpenhotel Lechtaler during the same period, and not just for one night. We cannot agree with this assessment. It's a completely renovated building, and the existing facilities don't allow for any other accommodations. If Ms. Hennig wasn't happy with the overnight stay, she could have found alternative accommodation, for example, in Reute. The bus was still running. Ms. Hennig and her family ate out, only having breakfast at the hotel. The guests' behavior was not very friendly. As they say, "what goes around comes around." We, as guests, are increasingly noticing that guests are rude and sometimes write reviews to vent their frustration, even though most of them only stayed one night or not at all. With only a few rooms, you can't expect a menu comparable to a Michelin-starred restaurant. At least three dining options are offered. If that's not enough, you can always go to a restaurant. But often it's also about the price of the room, or drinks that are supposedly too expensive. In the Lechtal valley, it's nearly impossible to find an open restaurant towards the end of the season. This is because, due to the low number of guests, it's common practice in the Lechtal to close the kitchen entirely, leaving guests to provide their own meals. I think we should treat each other more kindly instead of taking our frustrations out on others. We wish Bernd and Christine Töppel all the best and more welcoming guests.

What an incredible week we had at the Alpen Hotel Lechtaler in Häselghere. It's very clean and tidy. The hosts are very kind people and full of ideas for excursions and hikes in the area. The food, prepared by the hostess herself, is of superior quality and always made with fresh ingredients. If you appreciate cleanliness and order, this is highly recommended. We've stayed here many times and it's always been a fantastic holiday. Thank you, Bernd and Christina, thank you, thank you, thank you. We hope to stay with you many more times.
