Were greatly disappointed while staying there. No mention of a check-in through a key box. We were not alone like that, because there were two more confused customers with us. After a phone call (good luck finding correct number) and the talk with the unfriendly owner, we found how to get in. Key cards for all customers were in one box. Now about the rooms. They are clean with somewhat of a modern renovation, but there were missing basic stuff like teapot, trashcan, shower curtain. Tea cups were also only for 3 persons in the room with 7 bed spaces. And we got lucky. Another customer that "checked-in" with us got a dirty room. As I know it was dealt in time, but service here is unfriendly and awful. Avoid this place if you'd like some good stress less rest Edit in response to owner's comment: We met an unfriendly attitude from the start of the call that we made to find out how to get in, because it was a "free day" (We also needed the help of a nearby shopkeeper to even find means of contacting the owner). The only staff member on site was seen once when she checked that we entered the room they designated to us, never seen again for the rest of the day. And I totally agree with what owner said in the comment "what goes around, comes around". This is highly unprofessional.

We had the unique experience here of persuading the friendly staff to make us some fries and salad at 8pm because we thought it would be lovely to explore the town at sunset and grab a spontaneous dinner near the castle after looking at some options. Well, anyone who visits this area should be aware that all restaurants close at 7:30pm even on weekends, and Google needs to update their opening hours to reflect this. There are no grocery stores or takeout either, so we were very grateful to the staff of this hotel for saving the first night of our vacation with some sustenance, even though they weren’t able to provide any meat or cheese. They overcharged somewhat for the simple salads and added an extra glass of wine to the bill, but I wasn’t in the mood to argue after the goodwill we were shown while the kitchen was clearly being scrubbed down. So I can’t comment on a regular stay but wanted to acknowledge the staff‘s willingness to help. Location is central and it seems to be the only place serving drinks after 8pm. The food was freshly made and definitely not leftovers.

Don’t recommend to eat there. Really not great food! Instead of potatoes we got fries, instead of vegetables, limp salad (no dressing, looked like straight out of the bag). The menu is very small (which can be quite a good thing if the dishes are then prepared with full attention and love) but this one here is full of spelling errors and is frankly not appealing in selection. Really sad, as the location is prime and could flourish with the right cuisine.
