B&b Oltre l'arco

Host Marco was GREAT. This place has the most character of any place we've started in Europe. For as old a building as it is, the owners have done a great job updating it; and there are skylights in the room and bathroom! Views were great too. Only issue was parking, but that is an issue in the whole area. Definitely recommend to anyone in the area.

Nice B&B for a stay close to the Seaside. Cozy place. It has the flair from an old building but completely renovated to the most exigent standards. Rooms are big and clean with a private bathroom. The bathroom is absolutely modern. No A/C, but it is okay with a fan. Thick walls help a lot ;). During our stay the kitchen was not (yet) available, but they provided us with some bakery, biscuits, fruits coffee and tea as breakfast. It is located in a small town about 15min driving to Trieste city centre. A wonderful place to enjoy the relaxed town life close to the seaside.

My friend and me spent our last night in the B&b Oltre l'arco after having hiked along the Via Alpina for 14 days and it was the perfect finish to our journey: The location is lovely, with a magnificent view of Trieste and the old house has been beautifully and carefully renovated and decorated. Everything is super clean and comfortable. There are a couple of authentic Italian restaurants in walking distance and Trieste is either a bus ride or a short car drive away. Even though there is no real breakfast option available just yet (administrative reasons that will be solved soon), there were some snacks as well as a coffee machine and tea. We only met the husband of the couple owning it and he was a wonderful host, very friendly and helpful. You can really feel how the owners are putting all their efforts and energy in running this great B&B - thank you for the lovely stay and we will recommend this place to friends and family!
