Caldbeck Camping

The campsite is well placed, as it is located on the Cumbrian Way. It isn't too big a campsite, and has 2 shower rooms, male and female toilets and a wash cabin. There is a variety of pitches, some with power, and others without, a yurt and wooden hut. Each pitch has a fire pit, and wood can be purchased from the village store (we paid £6 per bag of wood as of 26 August 2025). The owners are very attentive, and make sure the whole site is clean. There are plenty of walks, for all abilities nearby, and the stream that runs parallel to the campsite is refreshing if you want to go for a little splash. We will be returning, as we had such a good time.

Really lovely campsite. I arrived a bit early but they let me set up anyway and I got a lovely, Riverside pitch. The pub and shop are nearby and very welcoming if a tad expensive but the campsite itself is really good value. Nine quid a night for peace, quiet and clean facilities. Will definitely return and recommend to friends 😎

The best campsite we’ve ever stayed at. 6 of us visited in mid-July for my annual birthday camping trip. We had previously been going to the same site for years but this year sadly the owners had sold the land and closed the site down, so we were struggling to find somewhere that catered for a couples group camping trip until we found Caldbeck Camping. The owner, Val, was beyond helpful, informative and even gave us a designated group pitch down by the river which was perfect. There were plenty of other solo travellers, families and groups onsite too, but with the river drowning out any unwanted noise and the well designed layout of the site, it still felt so quiet, peaceful and secluded. The facilities were spot on, warm showers, toilets and recycling facilities. There is a local shop, a pub and two cafes which were all amazing in terms of staff, food and service. We hope to continue coming to this site each year as part of our continued tradition. Thank you Caldbeck Camping, I would highly recommend this site to anyone!
