Despite marketing themselves as a nice establishment there was a lot left to be desired in the details. I requested split beds as I was sharing with my mother and this was "the split" pictured. With a nice bare bulb. The tea station was literally just a few tatty teabags in a jar - when I asked reception for coffee that "is something we don't do at this hotel"... And there was no milk (a tea station in a ski town populated by Brits needs milk) and while I was able to get some milk from the bar with no fridge and the heat of the room of course the milk went off.. The room was boiling. We turned off the radiator and had the door open 1 degree outside and that wasn't enough to reach a comfortable temperature. Between booking and checking out I received NINE emails from the hotel. Nobody wants that many emails on holiday with various snippets of information. I booked here because the rooms were advertised as "all being elevator accessible" the elevator broke the second morning of our stay and wasn't repaired. Also, the Romantic Hotel isn't step free access to get from the Fish Inn. Again, misleading when accessibility was pushed so hard on the Fish Inn website. We didn't meet any of the Fish Inn staff because it's an entirely online check in system. The breakfast at Romantic was excellent. 5/5 for breakfast. But Fish Inn for the price was disappointing. The linens were fresh and crisp, and the balcony and view were great. But it just felt cheap overall. Especially the online check in nonsense. People want a person, especially as the hotel is marketed as a family run traditional hotel. I wouldn't stay here again.

Great place to stay if you're skiing. They have a boot room to store skiing equipment but nextime, I'm going to hire skiing equipment from a place closer to the ski lifts where you can leave them there after skiing. It's abit of a chore to carry ski stuff back to the hotel

Stayed two nights here while in Zell am See. To be honest, the hotel itself is nice and we were very happy with our room. My qualm is that the same owner that owns this hotel owns the nearby RomantikHotel and tries to save money by not having any full time staff at Fischerwirt. The check-in is a machine in the lobby and if you need to talk to a real person you have to go to the RomantikHotel. There is an indoor walkway that connects the two hotels but it was under construction while we were there so we had to walk outside several times to the other reception. It’s not a huge deal but for a 4-star hotel I expect a bit more convenience for the guest. Also, air conditioning is in each room but you have to pay €10 to get the remote out of a vending machine in the lobby and then you get your money back when you return the remote upon checkout. Again, a little ridiculous and extra steps for the guest to save money for them. Parking is also at the Romantik and costs €11 per day. Overall, we were happy with the stay but were a bit annoyed with going back and forth to a different hotel so much
