abba Playa Gijón Hotel

I was there for my business trip for a few days - the hotel is clean, room is comfortable and location is almost perfect! As of the hotel staff - I highly recommend meeting Luis, he is very friendly and really helpful with anything, he will make your stay safe and comfortable!

Just called in for a drink and to see the much publicised rooftop bar. Unfortunately its closed in winter . Went to the 37th gastropub for a drink on the 1st floor instead. Bizarre mish mash of decor. Not very cosy and service was quite unfriendly. Would not recommend. Did not stay here. We were going to eat but felt unwelcome in the bar so decided against it.

This is a review specifically for the events and catering service. We hosted a welcome party for all of our guests in the lead up to our destination wedding in Asturias. We had a lot of things to worry about with the wedding given the size and complexity of what we were trying to pull off… not mention that half the guests were English speakers! From the moment we chose Abba, Paloma and her team put us right at ease with what is essentially a turnkey service for large events. We had a two hour cocktail style dinner with bodega. The food was excellent, the service fantastic, and the spaces were beautiful. The event day staff was unbelievably courteous and flexible and navigated a bilingual crowd with ease. We had rain come in and we very nimbly switched from the jaw dropping terrace to their beautiful downstairs bar in a flash and without a hiccup. Thank you Paloma and the entire team for contributing to a beautiful moment in our story!
