Last October we decided to visit Cinque Terre, but stay off the beaten path we decided to stay in Volastra at Il Saraceno. We knew it was a small hotel and not a chain but all I can say is: The Best Hospitality in Volastra – A True Gem! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ While Il Saraceno is officially a 3-star establishment, the experience was unequivocally 5-star quality. If you are looking for a base to explore the Cinque Terre where you are treated with genuine warmth and precision, this is the place. Why This Stay Was Exceptional: The "Antonella Factor": We have to give a special mention to Antonella, whose guest service is nothing short of astonishing. She is the heart of this hotel. From her expert local tips to her incredible ability to anticipate every need, she made us feel like VIPs. Her passion for hospitality is evident in everything she does. Intuitive Attention to Detail: The team here notices the little things. Whether it was the perfectly timed breakfast service or the immaculate condition of our room, nothing was overlooked. They don’t just provide a room; they curate an experience. A Peaceful Sanctuary: Located in the charming village of Volastra, Il Saraceno offers a quiet escape from the heavy crowds of the main towns. The shuttle and trail access are convenient, but it’s the peace and quiet—and the staff's "can-do" attitude—that made our trip. The Verdict: We left feeling totally satisfied and genuinely touched by the kindness we encountered. Antonella and the entire team have mastered the art of high-end service within a cozy, authentic setting. We cannot wait to return!

Our stay was fantastic! The room was warm and cozy when we arrived and the room is complete with everything you may need! The service was amazing, we felt so welcomed and well taken care of! Breakfast was freshly prepared for us and included delicious local products. Antonella was an absolute angel and even stayed until late to open the gate for us, and in general she was an amazingly sweet host and gives the place a family home feeling!

This hilltop hotel felt more like being in a family home than a business in the best possible way. Antonella is a lovely host whose welcoming nature made us feel right at home from the start. With only 7 rooms and a quiet village surrounding, it was extremely peaceful, and our room had a surprisingly stunning view. The included breakfast was made to order, and the great service far surpassed the 3 star rating.
