We stopped at The Lodge for four, extremely comfortable nights in November. Communications with Ed were excellent prior to arrival and we were warmly welcomed. A lot of thought and effort has gone into making the accommodation a perfect place to return to after exploring Hadrian’s Wall. It has everything you need and probably among thr most comfortable beds we’ve slept in.

Really neat place. Super quiet, very comfy beds, and very comfortable rooms. The layout is really neat too, has a cozy meeting room to lounge in, nice kitchen to meet in for breakfast, a drying room for wet hiking gear. Guests are spread out enough it seems like you are the only guest out on the farm, really relaxing. Food provided for breakfast was EXCELLENT, included home grown duck eggs.

We arrived at Bridge House to a warm friendly welcome from Ed after a long day walking the Hadrians Wall Path it was Day 3 of our 6 day adventure, a one night stay. Communication since booking had been brilliant. I had a couple of email queries that were swiftly answered by return and packed lunches were arranged as well as a table at the Milecastle Inn a short walk from the Bridge House and a must visit place for an evening meal and wind down after a long days walking. We had booked a twin room that was perfect for our needs spacious with ensuite facilities as well as a communal area for guest use tea coffee etc and used as a communal breakfast area with everything you need to fuel up for the days walking to come. However it's not just a place for walkers its also an ideal location as a base for exploring the area with good car parking area and set back from the nearby lane with fantastic views. Ed and Lydia are the perfect hosts warm, welcoming and very generous with their time, advice and guidance using their knowledge of the area. They deliver a guest experience second to none. Thanks Ed and Lydia for literally going the extra mile for our stay and ensuring we made the starting point of Day 4 without a hitch. I almost missed this point there is also a drying room (don't forget the drying room) which Ed quickly introduced to us on arrival where we were able to dry our boots and clothing making for a much more comfortable walk the following day. Ideal setting, great location, fantastic generous hosts who deserve great success for their business we will definitely return.
