Dunster Castle Hotel

We booked this hotel as a spur of the moment getaway with other dog. We were greeted by John and given so much helpful information and a really personable welcome. We had a sunday roast cooked by John and he even cooked a separate mini roast for our dog! We’re foodies and John’s roast dinner was top notch! Our room had a separate entrance because we had our dog which was really helpful! Comfy beds, tea, biscuits and fresh milk! In the morning John prepared our cooked breakfast to perfection! To sum up: We had the best night away at Dunster Castle Hotel. John and Lisa were the most amazing hosts and it was clear to see that they both had so much time for each one of their residents and a passion for their business. Beautifully home cooked food, very dog friendly and we would absolutely love to return!

We stayed at the hotel to celebrate our wedding anniversary. John and Lisa are wonderful hosts, our room was beautiful and breakfast delicious. They also gave us an anniversary card, which was a lovely touch. Lisa had recommended some local restaurants too, which was a great help, and really made our stay feel special. Village Location is superb with a very short walk to the castle. Thank you so much ☺️

Only here for one night but so glad we chose this place to stop at. Beautifully designed rooms throughout, our room was a small double and quite cozy but loved the decor and the added touches of biscuits and sherry! Had the best homecooked roast dinner we have had in years for a very reasonable price, John is a star in the kitchen and Lisa was perfect for front of house remembering everything mentioned and very warm and friendly. Dunster itself is a gorgeous village and this hotel is a gem. Secure free car park at back too Thanks to the whole team for a lovely stay, Adrian and Louise
