A beautiful park set in the hills with a lovely cafe and shop. Had a lovely walk with the pooch. Was looking forward to having lunch in the cafe but it is not dog friendly! This is very unfortunate and disappointing since this is a dog friendly walking area. We have been twice now and there is no one in the shop. Why not consider reducing the size of the shop and making that a dog friendly area… just a thought as I think you would have much more custom. The outer toilet facilities were closed so had to use the cafe toilet! Again if these were open, it would avoid having to go in the cafe! Other than that, the staff are really welcoming and friendly and do like the outdoor seating area, which is great in the summer but not the winter time!

We love this cafe and visit a lot. Not just for coffee, but Sunday lunch and meals We were disappointed today to visit having checked the Google opening times for New Years Day - 4pm closing - but in fact it closed at 3pm. The gentleman on the bar was quite abrupt about the fact it was clear the opening hours were ‘on the door’ This is fine but most of us check the opening hours on line before coming up to walk the dogs and then have a drink - so what you are saying is Google is wrong? (We would have come up earlier - first time I have experienced a poor customer interaction

The place itself lovely to go walking and access our beautiful countryside and the Cleveland way and hills. we also wanted to have something warm to eat and drink after our walk and the coffee shop/restaurant advised at the door they were not pet friendly. Yet again, pet families are treated like 2nd class citizens & our furry family members who help save & protect lives, detect human diseases and do jobs no human could do, are prejudiced against. Unfortunately for them they have lost our business, our family and all our friends. When will those sniffy people who think they are better than pet parents & object to eating around a dog but would be quite happy for it to save their life, realise that it is HUMANS that leave and make the messes of this world. Not our pups.
