Great Langdale Campsite

We’ve stayed a couple of times over the past few years. Facilities are excellent and the staff are first class. Really good at recommending walks and sorting out stuff. facilities are clean plenty of hot water and warm couple of pubs within walking distance one just five minutes up the road which is probably the best of the three options and the only one with decent Wi-Fi. We will be back.

Stunning campsite in a great location. Lots of walks right from the campsite which is ace. We stayed in our van and the van pitches were really spacious and you had a lot of privacy. There's two sets of toilets so you're never too far away, no matter where you camp. The showers were lovely, spacious and a separate bit for your clothes and towel so they don't get soaked! Good pressure and temperature too, very clean. There was hair dryers but not the most powerful, there was a plug in there to plug your own in though. Shop was fully stocked with food, camping essentials etc. and even had some nice Craghoppers clothing in. No signal on the campsite at all, nearest place is either of the pubs which are a 10 mins walk away max...Not a bad thing at all but worth knowing. There may be some WiFi available at the shop though (we didn't ask) Will definitely be going back there!

Visited the campsite in early October 2025 for 2 nights. Staff were lovely and helpful upon arrival and we got straight to pitching our tent. The onsite facilities were good, the showers were clean and well maintained and we appreciated the dryers and the drying room that was available as our stuff got a bit damp overnight so we were able to pop it in the drying room during the day and it was nice and dry when we came back from our hike. The little shop at the entrance was well stocked, although we only popped in for a wee sweet treat and a cuppa in the mornings to start the day off. There’s also a pub down the road (and another one up the road too) which is a very short walk and serves good pints and food if you don’t fancy having a BBQ every night😂. The staff has warned us that the biowaste generator located near the bathroom are can be a little loud however it was not an issue for us at all (and I’m typically a light sleeper). Not sure what it’s like during the busier periods but we definitely had a very relaxing stay, and a beautiful view to wake up to every morning.
