We stayed here as a group of 4 women from New Zealand during our Peaks of the Balkans hike. One of our favourite guesthouses with easily the best dinner of the whole hike. The host and volunteers were super welcoming, and gave us great information about the history of the area and the trail! Would definitely recommend.

We stayed one night at Triangle Woodhouse in Babino Polje while hiking the Peaks of the Balkans. The place has a long history and is one of the oldest guesthouses in the region. The common area is very cozy, and the food was tasty, though the portions were smaller compared to other guesthouses along the trail. Sina, the Workaway volunteer, was absolutely wonderful — she gave us such a warm and friendly welcome and really made us feel at home. However, it felt a bit unusual that no local hosts were present during our stay, which made the atmosphere feel less personal and more like a standard setup rather than the family-run feeling we loved elsewhere. We also found it a bit odd that even tea was charged extra, unlike in other places. Overall, a decent stay thanks to Sina’s effort and kindness, but it lacked the warmth and authenticity we experienced in other guesthouses on the route.

The owner Agron is the best! He knows evers guest by name and uses local food en wine.He even makes his own rahki. The cook, Salma, brings the true kitchen of Montengro and she serves the best dinner of de Peaks of the Balkans. We will never forget Agron and Salma and we hope we come back next year! If you are looking for a great place to stay, stop looking and book here ;)
