We spent a week at Farnbauernhof and totaly enjoyed it. This place has many hiking routes and can also be a good starting point for daily car trips to Titisee, Schluchsee, Freiburg, etc. The hosts are very friendly and always ready to explany in detail how does the farm work. Handmade ice cream is a "must try". Suggestions for improvement: 1) High speed internent (as discussed with the host - expected in 2020) 2) More possibilities for kids to touch and interact with animals (we haven't asked for it, maybe it is available). Would be nice if kids can hold a chicken or a rabbit in hands, touch a cow and so on.

We booked this holiday farm based on a recommendation and the many positive reviews, but were rather disappointed. The holiday apartment in the old barn is visually appealing, clean, and adequately equipped for me and my then almost two-year-old daughter. Unfortunately, in our opinion, the overall package did not justify the price (over €2,000 for two weeks in August). The advertised farm experience was barely present: we didn't see any cows, the goats were deemed unsuitable for children, and the chickens were hardly noticeable. The rabbit enclosure was very steep and practically inaccessible for small children. No other hands-on activities or farm-related events were offered. The barn is extremely noisy; every footstep and every conversation of the neighbors could be clearly heard. The heavily advertised play barn seemed damp, cold, and neglected; many toys were broken or badly worn. The farm grounds as a whole also appeared disorganized, with some items that could be dangerous for children. On the positive side, the location is beautiful and close to Triberg and the surrounding restaurants. Overall, the intentions were good, but the execution was poor. For the price, significantly more organization, maintenance, and transparency would be necessary.

I spent four days with my daughter and two grandchildren (1 and 3 years old) at the Dold family's Farnbauernhof farm. We received a warm welcome and felt very comfortable there. We stayed in the "Wild Orchid" apartment, which was very spacious and comfortably furnished. We had a lot of rain, but that wasn't a problem, as there are plenty of play options for all ages on the farm. The large playroom was fantastic for our two children. We didn't use the outdoor play area, which is also great, much due to the weather. The adjacent forest is also very beautiful and perfect for long walks. During our stay, there were three calves, which we particularly enjoyed along with the other animals. We had a wonderful and relaxing time there and would love to come back.
