I stayed at the hotel for two nights on a work trip. So far, it has been a rather unpleasant experience. Let’s start with the positive: the staff is absolutely outstanding — attentive, very kind, and truly five-star. The location is excellent as well, with stunning views all around the hotel. However, the hotel itself did not offer the reception or the quality I expected from a four-star establishment. I was travelling alone and booked a single room, but I was given a room outside the main building, behind a bar and a shop. I would say it looked more like an accommodation area for staff rather than a suitable space for hotel guests. I have stayed in 2- and 3-star hotels with better rooms than the one I was assigned here. The photos speak for themselves. As for cleanliness, it also left a lot to be desired: the mirror was clearly not cleaned, there was dirt under the bed, product stains on the shower glass, and even stains on the bed sheets. In summary, apart from the kindness of the staff, the experience was disappointing.

We had a late dinner here because the Tapbouse was fully booked. The food was ok but nothing special. We were glad to get a table at 8.30pm but did feel as though we were rushed through the process. I was surprised at this for a Saturday night. The building has such a long and colourful past that it was a joy to be there but a bit of care and attention over the food and service is needed.

Situated within walking distance of the beach this is a proper pub without arcade machines or piped music. The staff were friendly, efficient (and ,the bar staff, handsome) great selection of REAL beers and cider - beer brewed on site with tasters offered. The four of us perused the extensive menus and having ordered, the food arrived within an acceptable time, all of the portions and the quality of the food was superb. My parents decided to finish with tea and this too was presented in a proper tea pot and was a good strength, NOTHING could spoil our visit to this superb venue.
