Vallum Lodge Hotel

Highly recommended especially for vegans. I was offered plant-based milk, margarine and yoghurt (several flavours) provided. Vegan packed lunch on offer included tasty vegan cheese. Our room was very comfortable, and we were offered a lift onwards to a nearby museum. Our host really went the extra mile. Would stay here again!

Fantastic place to stay, brilliant service, excellent friendly and accommodating host and her dog. Warm and friendly place with everything you need. Breakfast lots of choice, was lovely. Nearby pubs with food and drink. Room very comfortable, tea coffee amenities, bath room modern with bath and shower. Hadrians wall and Roman forts all within walking distance. Had a great 2 nights stay.

We stayed at Vallum Lodge when walking the wall a couple of years back, and then returned just for a few days hiking recently. Sam and Branston are the perfect hosts, who couldn’t do anymore for their guests if they tried. The location is perfect for a few days hiking, with a great pub a 2 minute walk, and the bus stops at the end of the drive. Sam literally remembers everything that you’ve forgotten, making your stay comfortable and enjoyable. We wouldn’t entertain staying anywhere else in Northumberland, as I don’t think you’ll be able to beat Vallum Lodge.
