Familiengut Ertlhof

We just arrived this evening in this Hotel. My husband booked it to break up a long journey. Unfortunately on arrival we entered the Restaurant and were greeted by a member of staff who wasn't very friendly. She also complained about being understaffed having to check people in and work a waitress. She didnt understand English or my nearly fluent German. I asked 3 times to speak to a Manager and was about to leave the Hotel to find an alternative when Mr. Ertl, I assume the owner arrived. His English was excellent and also his customer service skills. As it was late I then decided to stay but will be reviewing other Hotels in the area first before/if I decide to revisit here, highly unlikely. Service is a integral part of the hospitality industry where the guest should be treated with respect. Unfortunately breakfast isn't available until 8am, this is too late as other hotels start at 6.30am. Our room overlooks a busy street and is far from quite. Last night I stayed in a B&B hotel in Slowenia where WiFi was available, early breakfeast and warm hearted multilingual, friendly staff for a distinctly more reasonable price. For this price without breakfeast due to an early start paired with unfriendly staff, it's not a hotel I'd recommend.

Large and clean chambers. Breakfast is price quality very good. Staff is friendly and always in for a kind greeting. Diner was also very good. Portions here are very large. Overall this is a nice family runned hotel. We were happy to stay here this summer and hope to visit Seeboden again sometime in the future.

I was staying with my class for a week. The first thing I noticed, was the awful condition of the bedding. It had holes and mysterious stains all over, even some blood. Otherwise the room was was equipped with all the necessary things, minus the hair dryer which was non-functional. I liked the cat though, which was strolling around the building from time to time. The food on the other hand was an entirely different matter. Even the most simple dishes weren't well made and overall quite dissapointing. The location was pleasant and the staff was friendly. I hooe you will be able to improve in the future.
